When to See An OB/GYN

Starting in adolescence, you should see an OB/GYN for annual well-woman visits all your life. In addition to talking about your personal and family health history, these visits help you keep track of your health over time and catch concerns before they become issues.

Your OB/GYN is also there to support you as you start or grow your family. Whether you’re pregnant, trying or hopeful, we offer expert maternity care at every step of your journey. This includes routine prenatal visits and postpartum support, as well as seamless access to infertility and high-risk pregnancy experts.

In addition to well-woman visits and maternity care, you should see an OB/GYN if you’re experiencing a gynecologic condition. Though these things can feel pretty personal, it’s important to be open and honest with your doctor if you have any discomfort or concerning symptoms. Rest assured, they have years of experience with all types of conditions and no topic is off limits. Their goal is keeping you healthy and feeling your best.

We offer personalized care starting the day you find out you’re pregnant – or the day you realize you need help getting there. We’re here for you and your baby at every step, from pregnancy to childbirth and as you discover your new life together.

Gynecology Services

Your health care needs are unique, and they can change throughout life. From well-woman visits to treatments for gynecologic conditions, we help you stay healthy, catch concerns early and feel your best at every age.

Our gynecology services include:

  • Well-woman preventive care, including Pap smears and HPV testing
  • HPV vaccinations
  • Birth control, such as pills, IUDs and natural family planning
  • Permanent birth control, including tubal ligation
  • Preconception care
  • Testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections (STIs)
  • Treatment for gynecologic conditions

Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology

Specialized women’s care for all ages includes our pediatric and adolescent patients. It’s recommended that girls begin seeing a general gynecologist between 13 and 15 years old, or earlier if they're experiencing a gynecologic condition. We know these visits can be intimidating or uncomfortable, so the first visit for many teens may just be a talk with their doctor without any exams.

Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery

If you have a gynecologic issue that requires evaluation or surgery, we provide the latest minimally invasive gynecologic surgical procedures for a wide range of conditions, such as ovarian cysts and endometriosis. Unlike open surgery, which usually requires a long incision, minimally invasive surgery results in less pain, an easier recovery and a quicker return to normal activities.

For highly complex procedures that require extreme precision, we use minimally invasive robotic surgery techniques. And for those seeking alternatives to a traditional hysterectomy, we offer less invasive options, like endometrial ablation and laparoscopic hysterectomy.

Our highly skilled all-female surgical team is committed to helping you feel your best and will develop a treatment plan that’s right for you.
