High Point Regional Health Announces Executive Appointments


 High Point Regional Health is pleased to announce the appointments of two key members to the administrative team.  Stacy Goldsholl, MD, will serve as Executive Vice President of UNC Regional Physicians, and Kevin E. Smith, MHA, will serve as Chief Operating Officer for High Point Regional.  

“I am excited to have Dr. Goldsholl and Kevin join the High Point Regional senior leadership team” said Ernie Bovio, President and CEO of High Point Regional Health.  “Both bring a wealth of experience and expertise required to meet the demands of these important roles at High Point Regional.”

As Executive Vice President of UNC Regional Physicians, Dr. Goldsholl will oversee the medical direction of over 25 practices and 300 physicians and staff.  Her extensive medical practice management and physician leadership experience will help ensure the organization continues to meet the needs of the community by delivering quality medical care while focusing on patient satisfaction, access to providers, and the management of healthcare costs.  Dr. Goldsholl will succeed Greg Taylor, MD, who will retire as Chief Operations Officer of UNC Regional Physicians in late September after 10 years of service with the organization.

It's good to be back in North Carolina!"
Dr. Goldsholl’s background includes serving as President of the Hospital Medicine Division for Team Health, providing national physician leadership, operational oversight and business development for 600 hospitalist from Puerto Rico to Hawaii.  Most recently she has served as a Health Care Executive Consultant for the management and turnaround of employed physician networks. 

Dr. Goldsholl completed an Executive MBA at the Kenan-Flagler School of Business in Chapel Hill and she received her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  

Kevin Smith, MHA
Kevin Smith most recently served as Chief Operating Officer for Baylor Scott & White Medical Center- Round Rock and Baylor Scott & White Medical Center- Taylor in Texas.  As Chief Operating Officer of High Point Regional, Smith will have an important role in regards to all operational aspects of the hospital, with a focus on ensuring that the needs of our patients, physicians and staff are met.

Smith’s background includes working in health care for 16+ years in various clinical positions as a Radiology Technologist and Nuclear Medicine Technologist.  Administrative positions held include a directorship at College Station Medical Center and directorship at Scott & White Hospital-Round Rock.

Smith holds a master’s degree in health care administration from Texas A&M Health Science Center and a bachelor of science in radiology sciences from Mid-Western State University. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
